Paula Scher is one of the most influential graphic designers in the world. Her connection with urban culture,  NY streets, pop art, make her designs go beyond the border of any applied medium. Stylistically, her projects are instantly recognizable. Her visual impact is aggressive and elegant at the same time, and the balance between image and typography in her work is unique, clean, clear, direct.
She has a wide cultural trajectory in her career and she always introduces artistic influence in each of his design projects. I could list many features that I love about Paula’s designs that I want to continue learning about, but if I should talk about something that she works on and that connects especially with me, cultural design concept is one of the most important aspects for me. I would not know how to separate the cultural and artistic influence of my design projects either, since for me design is also culture at street level.
Her work for the branding of iconic cultural institutions in New York has made the public increase their recognition and participation in them as visitors. Everyone answers the call of Scher’s graphic design. Scher has contributed and continues to do so today with a commitment of the design function applied to cultural institutions. Scher makes people see classic cultural institutions like museums, operas, or ballets as modern, accessible, fun, impressive, and iconic spaces. Those aspects are working in the people because beyond being a great designer, with an excellent track record in her professional career, Paula Scher and her energy is shown in each of her projects.
Let’s play design!
